Some people have written to me that I should tell them the value of the ayanamsha that I’ve achieved in my book ‘Taming the Untamed’ and I have been telling them to instead read the book (except one guy whom I’ve provided the values with). The reason behind my suggestion is to make them understand the concept of nirayana and associated nuances first so that they can digest the latter.
In astrology, if one wants to write a book solely for earning money, writing on predicting events or the core basic stuff should be one’s first choice since that would sell like hot cakes despite the fact that most of such books are not worth it. The topics that I’ve touched in my books would be the last choice in that case. In fact, somewhere it’s a dirty job to spend years working on the base stuff but I’ve no regrets since I was fully aware of this when I began my research.
My sole aim is to make people think broadly rather than sitting on beliefs. And for that, one needs to read the book to understand the background. Anyways, since it seems few people are interested only in the values at present, here in this article I’m revealing the same for the benefit of all.
For nirayana astrology, the aynamasha is named as DD(nirayana)
The zero epoch of DD (nirayana) ayanamsha: Aug 10, 517 AD
Precession rate for nirayana = 58.5 secs per nirayana year of 365.25875 days
DD (nirayana) ayanamsha as on Aug 10, 2018 = 24d 23m 25s
Precession rate: modern
DD (sidereal) ayanamsha as on Jan 1, 2018 = 23d 48m 9s
Since the stellar phenomenon is what falls in line with the modern facts, the ayanamsha for stellar astrology is named as DD(stellar), which is based on Krittika nakshatra and can also be considered as an extended arm of DD(sidereal):
Precession rate: modern
DD (stellar) ayanamsha as on Jan 1, 2018 = 23d 56m 26s
The details on how these aynamasha values are tamed and my preference is given in my book “Taming the Untamed”. As a last comment, if someone is looking for an ayanamsha that would work hundred percent in their ways, they are wasting their time. We need to simply adopt that ayanamsha which is flawless without any catch-22 dilemma and is well-supported both logically and academically.
Note: I’ve achieved the ayanamsha independent of any of the yogtara (star in nakshatra) positions as mentioned in any of the siddhantas. So, they are sufficiently backed by the core concepts and are without any catch 22 situation.
